Rabble is a Folk Theatre Company based around Maidstone and Ashford in Kent.
We perform traditional (and not so traditional) mumming plays and street theatre. We dance in the Border Morris style - wild and loud and with high energy - and we sing and play music too.
Rabble has been performing at festivals, pubs and traditional events around the south-east since 1994.

"Tree-Dressing Day"
Rabble perform traditional Yuletide Mumming Plays and dancing
at The Weald and Downland Open Air Museum, Singleton, West Sussex
on the first Sunday in December each year, from about midday.
As the daylight fades, Rabble lead a procession around the site, to two tall trees in a meadow, where lanterns and decorations are hung in the branches to "dress" the tree. As the musicians play, everyone joins hands for an amazing spiral dance around the trees, weaving in and then out again below the branches decked with lights. Real, living magic!
